Each year, YHIS admits students from Nursery (2 years old) to 8th grade.
Our admission process concentrates on examining each child’s potential to contribute to and benefit from participating in the diverse YHIS community.
We accept students with no prior knowledge of Chinese into our early childhood programs. Children do not need Chinese support at home to succeed in this immersion environment.
For elementary and middle school applicants, basic Chinese listening and speaking skills are required. We will consider applicants with no or minimum Chinese language skills if they are enthusiastic about learning in general and motivated to learn Chinese in particular.
